Copper flashing installation on a brick chimney with asphalt architectural roofing shingles.
This video shows some very nice copper flashing work by Chris Verrone.
Too nice of work actually. The copper flashing will last for a 100+ years, but in 25 -30 years, some roofer will be replacing those asphalt roof shingles and trash the nice copper work. This would have been better installed on a roof with slate or tile shingles.
There are a few things I might be apprehensive about;
There should be another step flashing tin at the lower chimney corners between the first and second shingles.
I am not a fan of cutting the bricks.
The joint mortar should match the existing chimney mortar.
